Blimey folks! Here we are, month 10 of 12…October is upon us.
What a September we had here on the Isle!
We love September in the Gef office, mostly cos the kids go back to school – but other than that it’s just a dead nice month.
The autumnal vibes start slowwwly creeping in, talk of Halloween begins, the leaves start to slowly turn colour…and it’s defo too warm by the end of everyday for the jumper you insisted it was cold enough for that morning. Just great.
Anyways, here we’ve rounded up some of the best Good News snippets from the last month for you to enjoy.
It’s official – Manx Wallabies are top shaggers.

There are now 180 wild wallabies on the Island, all from two rebel love birds escaping the Wildlife park a few years back.
The OG Ms Wallaby had this to say;

David Castro got married
Everyone’s favourite Boots employee & crooning LEGEND David Castro got married. Congrats to DC, you da man.We hope your wife is as appreciative of you as we are.
The Queen sent a card to a Manx resident on their 100th birthday
Sandy Gerrard celebrated his 100th milestone on Friday 14th September, and got a b-day card from none other than her Majesty the Queen. We hope you had a fantastic day Sandy!
Rumour has it she called him a ledge in her personalised note, and told him to ‘have a shot of patron on her behalf’.
The hosepipe ban was lifted
As of Monday 24th September, the Island could get their hoses out again – even though it pissed down pretty solidly for the entire month.

Island Travel agent wins award
Bethany Cooper who is a travel agent at Island Travel won the ‘Young Travel Agent of the Year’ award, out of entrants from all over the UK & Ireland.
A snippet from the official press release stated the judges had this to say about Bethany;
“What made this agent stand out was her impressive work ethic – which saw her work for 30 days without a break during the peak booking season – and her commitment to providing excellent customer service. A strong sales performance and savvy social media skills also strengthened Bethany’s entry, and left us in no doubt that this young agent has a bright future ahead of her in the travel industry.”
A huge congrats to you Bethany and the entire Island Travel team, you must be very proud.
It was a big month for Cycle 360…
Richard Cuffwright, who is a mechanic at Cycle 360, won an award for Britain’s Best Bike Mechanic, in association with Park Total. Richard placed in the Top 10 throughout the whole of Great Britain! Congrats Richard.
And this last weekend, the team opened their incredible first-class fitness facility. Here are some pictures!….
The Island’s getting a disco pop-up!
That’s right folks, incase you missed last week’s BIG NEWS – Peggy & Lewis are bringing you a disco pop-up for 6 weeks over the Christmas period.
9. Manx Artist chosen for Tube exhibition
Frank Crompton, from Ballaugh, has been selected to replace ad-space on a billboard in a heaving tube station.
Mr Crompton’s artwork titled ‘Penny People’, will be on display on the Bakerloo line at Regent’s Park Station, from 24 September, for a full month.
