Kate Hegarty, founder of Gef The Mongoose said;
“We’re incredibly proud to be shortlisted, it’s goes to show what a group of progressive and ambitious Islanders can achieve by working together!
Our goal was to shift the share of voice on the Isle of Man, from a few individuals to hundreds. We’re pleased to have achieved this in 6 short months, we have created a collaborative platform that hundreds of people contribute ideas and content to on a daily basis.
We realised there was a gap in the media market on the Island, and that a huge demographic of Islanders were being underserved by the traditional media. The Island was definitely ready for a new modern media brand!
We’re continually reaching over 70% of the IOM population with our messaging, content and brand and we’re only just getting started. We are also the first media company in the Isle of Man to generate news, which went on to be covered nationally on the BBC.
We’d like to pass on our sincere thanks to our commercial partners, writers & contributors and general Gef supporters. We’re incredibly lucky to work with so many talented Manx individuals”
The prestigious awards ceremony will be held at the London Hilton, Park Lane on Wednesday 16th May.
