1. Date of birth
I’m Arts Development Officer at the Isle of Man Arts Council
I started out, what seemed like a lifetime ago, working as a web designer for a travel agent, this put me on my first step towards a career in marketing.
When the opportunity came about I moved to the CSP world, working in the local Marketing and Communications department. This led to working at group level on two successful global rebrand projects with budgets of EUR 1 million.
After a brief term in gaming, I moved onto the Super-yacht industry, where I headed up marketing for a software company and sat on the Isle of Man Superyacht Forum in a PR and Communications capacity.
Since November 2017, I have been working for the Arts Council as the Arts Development officer.
4. Out of work interests
I am a massive music and film fan. My dissertation (a million years ago!) was in design evolution in horror films and that interest in horror and movies has never left me.
5. Notable work and/or life achievements
I have been very fortunate to work on some amazing design and music projects in the past from very different backgrounds, including: Kaiser Chiefs, David Ford, Rolo Tomassi, The Charlatans, The Unthanks, many banks and trust companies, iconic super yachts and Hilton Hotels.
6. Why did you want to be involved with 30 Under 30?!
Over the past couple of years I’ve seen a creative explosion of young businesses starting up on the island and I feel it’s important to encourage this for the future.
7. What are you looking out for in nominees?
Living on the Island can bring up its own challenges so understanding creative problem solving and marketing to make the entrants stand out will be a key feature for me.
